John Evans

Following an MA in Marketing John started his career at full-service agency Colleagues Direct Marketing in Bath analysing all types of direct response activity for companies such as Barclaycard and Reader’s Digest. Following this he moved to London to spend five years helping to build up the Data Planning function of Clark McKay and Walpole (CMW) working on clients including marbles, The Carphone Warehouse, flybe, Hyundai and London Electricity (as it was known then).

In 2005 he moved to pure data company DDA to help develop segmentations for BT Broadband (Business and Consumer) and Paradise Poker. In his first year he also re-branded the company to planning-inc after identifying the need for data and analytics companies to be more accessible to marketers.

He then led a segmentation project for Argos Online that also included a full review of historic email activity and development of a customer journey framework. Following this he was seconded to Norwich Union to develop a new Data Planning function using internal resource, working on-site for eighteen months. In 2008 he co-founded 2+2 with the intention of creating a new type of data company able to bring together online and offline data to give companies a true single customer view.
